Description CCR3, a Chemokine Receptor, was cloned from human eosinophils (Daugherty et al., 1996). This receptor binds specifically the chemokine eotaxin and activates eosinophil leukocytes. CCR3 also responds to a variety of beta-chemokines (CC motif) including RANTES, monocyte chemotactic proteins, and mucosae-associated epithelial chemokine (MEC). CCR3 is a key mediator of allergic reactions; activation of this receptor stimulates the production of interleukins required for activation of basophils and eosinophils (Sallusto et al., 1997). CCR3 plays a role in the progression and pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases such as asthma, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer's disease. This receptor also facilitates HIV-1 penetration in heart and brain.Immunogen: CCR3 antibody was raised against the 3rd extracellular domain of CCR3. (Human)Application: CCR3 antibody can be used for detection of CCR3 by IHC-parafin (10 µg/ml).Buffer: CCR3 antibody is supplied in PBS, 0.1% sodium azide.Storage: CCR3 antibody can be stored at -70ºC for long term storage, and 4ºC for short term storage.
